Peaceful Mountain Cork Yoga Mat

Got this for my girlfriend to use while doing her exercise videos. Needed a mat that doesn't slide around on carpet and this is working out quite well.

The typical cheap yoga mats that are widely available are not stable at all on carpeting. They will easily move around and can potentially lead to an injury. Luckily, I found this one and decided to give it a try.

The first thing you notice is that it is rather heavy for a yoga mat. The backside of the mat is rubber and it really does stay put whether on carpet or a hard floor surface. The cork top looks great (I got the plain version) although some people may need to get used to the feel. My personal opinion is that you do give up some cushioning for stability, but since it is being used on carpet this is not a big issue for us.

Overall, I am super pleased with this - fit our needs perfectly. It is priced into the bougie spending realm, so I would definitely wait for a discount if you can.

This is a very dense foam yoga mat. I haven't used a cork one before this, and I had concerns about the texture, but it was smooth. It's long enough for me to do floor stretches without hanging off the mat, but I'm also 5-foot-somethin', so your experience could vary there. It feels like a giant gaming mat, really. The upper surface has good grip, the underside gripped well on carpet, but I haven't used it on a slick surface yet, like polished concrete. I haven't been able to test it for much durability yet, as I only recently got it, but my daily stretching routine hasn't made an impact on its surface--so far so good!

Love that this mat is non-toxic. You can genuinely feel the difference… no weird chemical smell, just a natural, earthy vibe that makes your practice feel even better.

The cork and rubber combo is a big step up from the plasticky mats I’ve used in the past. Definitely feels better underfoot & in your conscience.

We keep it in the van for travel & it’s held up great so far.

It’s lightweight enough to carry, but still thick enough to cushion joints, which I really appreciate on uneven ground.

The grip is solid too… gets even better the sweatier you get!

Haven’t had it long enough to speak on durability yet, but it’s looking good so far. I’d say if you’re after a mat that’s sustainably made, natural & thoughtfully designed, this is a great pick.

I really like this cork yoga mat from Satori Concept. Okay, yes, it's called a "cork yoga mat", but it's really a natural rubber mat with a thin layer of cork coating the surface.

The rubber base has a nice density and cushion, and, surprisingly, very little smell. All good things. Of course, this density means the mat is not super lightweight, but it's not unwieldy either. For me, the extra cushion is worth a little extra weight. Also, the density should add to long term durability and comfort of use.

Overall the grip seems excellent - a little less than a straight rubber mat - but the cork has the added benefit of getting grippier as you sweat.

At 72" x 26" the mat should work well for most people in most circumstances. Definitely recommended.
